  • Your child will work on their Explore level primarily through our dance organization. While we'll introduce the award and provide guidance during classes, most of the portfolio work will happen at home. Our ballet and dance instructors will suggest arts experiences, recommend performances to attend, and help your child connect their dancing to the wider arts world. We provide regular check-ins during term time to monitor progress and answer questions. The flexible nature of Explore means your child can complete activities at their own pace between lessons, with our staff available to support their journey.

  • The cost of the Explore level is £47.50. This charge covers everything, including the digital booklet, a full-colour printed version delivered to you, registration, moderation and admin costs, and a printed certificate for your child, delivered either via your child's teacher or via mail.

  • No special skills are needed to start the Explore level. Your child simply needs curiosity and enthusiasm for trying creative activities. The award is designed to be accessible for all children, regardless of previous arts experience. Whether your child is already taking dance classes with us or is completely new to artistic activities, Explore provides a welcoming entry point. The focus is on discovery and enjoyment rather than mastery, making it perfect for children of all abilities and confidence levels.

  • The Explore level strikes a perfect balance between independence and support. While your child will make their own creative choices and reflections, they won't be doing everything alone. Our dance instructors will guide the overall process, providing structure and feedback. Parents often help with practical aspects like arranging visits to performances or documenting activities. The amount of independence can be adjusted based on your child's age and confidence. Many families find Explore becomes a rewarding journey they can share together, while still celebrating your child's personal artistic development.
